KUALA LUMPUR: Overseas graduates should consider returning to Malaysia as it is the ideal place for business start-ups due to the many incentives provided by the Government, said Minister in the Prime Minster’s Department Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong.

Dr Wee, who is tasked with managing the Chinese SME community and overseeing the micro credit scheme for the development of SMEs, said he would meet with industry players to discuss ways to further develop the sector.

"I can see that many of these alumni are performing well in business, particularly in SMEs.

"Malaysia is the place to start your own business," he said in his speech at the 40th anniversary of The Federation of Alumni Association of Taiwan Universities, Malaysia here Saturday night.

Dr Wee, who is also MCA deputy president, said he regretted not being able to study in Taiwan and be part of the association, which has displayed the spirit of unity and giving by assisting students in need.

He also expressed his hope that Taiwan authorities would provide more incentives and assistance to Malaysian students.
"Taiwan is a popular destination among students to further their studies abroad due to its quality education and the cultural similarities with Malaysia," he said.
