Malaysian, Singaporean Start-Ups Pitch Business Projects To Investors, Venture Capitalists
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysian and Singaporean start-ups, with an estimated market capitalisation of about RM45 million, will be pitching their business projects to eight angel investors and venture capitalists at the inaugural Malaysia-Singapore BizPitch.

In a statement today, Technology Park Malaysia Corp Sdn Bhd (TPM) said the two-day Malaysia-Singapore BizPitch 2015, starting today at Technology Park Malaysia, saw seven Malaysian and eight Singaporean start-ups pitching their business projects.

It is the first such bilateral angel investment platform jointly organised by Technology Park Malaysia Incubation & Innovation Centre (TPM IIC), Vibazone Sdn Bhd and Singapore's venture capital firm and accelerator incubator, Appleseed, it said.

The 15 start-ups are information and communications technology-based companies, it said.

Among the Malaysian start-ups are Black Tie Technology, Octove, OohMedia, iGEN Technology and CBMTI, while their Singaporean counterparts are Overdrive, Fashory, Trakomatic, Vitalstrak and Docubuzz.

TPM president/chief executive officer, Datuk Azman Shahidin, said the event would strengthen bilateral relations between TPM and Appleseed as well as enhance cross-border investment to encourage Singaporean angel investors to invest in Malaysian start-ups and vice-versa.

"TPM also plans to seek collaborations with its counterparts in Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand later this year," he said.

It has signed MOU on co-incubation initiative with Bandung Techno Park in Indonesia late last year, he said.
